Question by ErvE: iPod Touch: “Application Not Compatible: iPhone 3.0 Software Update”?
What does this mean? I try to download some apps for my iPod Touch and it says “Application Not Compatible. This application requires the iPhone 3.0 Software Update.” Do I need to pay for this update? I really want some apps but I’m not paying to get some kind of update. Thanks!
How do I get this update? It’s my dads iPod, I just got it because he got an iPad. he never used apps.

I’m pretty sure Apple made the 3.0 update free about 3 months ago. If you’re still on 2.2.1 or 2.2.2, then you’re missing out on a bunch of features.

All that warning means is that you need to have 3.0 firmware because the game uses some sort of new feature not available in 2.2.1 or 2.2.2
